Communication Access Center, (CAC), a private, 501(C)(3) non-profit United Way agency, has been providing services which bridge the communication, cultural and environmental barriers to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing since 1965. It was one of the first such service agency to be established within the United States. Over the years, CAC has expanded its programs and service areas to meet the growing demand. CAC has been and continues to be devoted to the concerns of Deaf and Hard of Hearing persons.

Purpose

Communication Access Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Inc. will provide comprehensive service array that includes interpreting services, educational services, advocacy, social services and behavioral health services. The recipients of these services shall be individuals, living in the United States, who are either deaf or experiencing hearing loss as well as providing to the individual’s family and/or primary caregivers. By providing services, CAC actively seeks to enhance the quality of life of its recipients and the larger deaf and hearing loss populations.

CAC is supported by funding from: United Way, foundations, donations, governmental contracts, and fee for services to agencies/organizations, individuals and families.

CAC will provide programs and employment practices that do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, disability, sexual orientation, marital status, height or weight.
