Communication Access Center Press Release

Communication Access Center is proud to announce the completion of the installations of the Video Remote Interpreting services at eleven Secretary of State Supercenters.  CAC is continuing our dedication in resolving communication and accessibility barriers by utilizing the highest quality innovative technological resources.

With over 40 years of serving the Deaf/Hard of Hearing people, CAC recognizes the need of communication accommodations and accessibility.  These eleven Supercenters have the capability to serve the Deaf/Hard of Hearing individuals as a walk-in basis.  Deaf/Hard of Hearing persons with questions regarding voter registration, change of address, driver's license & state id, and other related services the Secretary of State provides may communicate with a representative through CAC VRI.

"We are very pleased to be a part of this exciting new service," said Julie Miron, CAC executive director.  "Thanks to modern telecommunication and Internet technology, we are able to provide interpreting services for deaf and hearing individuals no matter where they are located. Timely and accurate communication reduces misunderstandings, which benefits the customer and the Secretary of State."

CAC acknowledges this success is extremely encouraging for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing community by empowering them and allowing communications with their service providers without restrictions.
